Summer 2024 Recap

Welcome to the MWUE blog! We’re hoping to use this space to showcase the great things we’ve been up to, so keep an eye here.

Summer 2024 has been a flurry of activity for MWUE: It started with a June charter trip to the Michigan Thumb Bottomland Preserve, which was followed by the Straights of Mackinac Shipwreck Symposium charter trip over the July 4 weekend, with special guests from Third Dimension in Tulum, the Fundies/DPV/Upgrade extravaganza (with a MWUE community weekend tucked in there as well) at Gilboa Quarry, featuring visiting instructors Emoke Wagner and Francesco Cameli, and our Southern Lake Michigan environmental monitoring station install. Finally, in August we had a Community weekend in Munising Michigan with camping and wreck diving off of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
